Children's Residential Support Worker

We are currently looking for Children's Residential Support Workers in Stafford, Cannock, Rugeley and Buxton.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• To provide emotional and practical support to service users, help them meet their personal care needs sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including personal hygiene, assistance with laundry and preparing meals and drinks.

• To help service users to take any prescribed medication, complying with all medicine policies, including storage, administering and record keeping.

• To assist in devising, implementing and reviewing care plans.

• We are looking for someone who is caring and compassionate, with the patience to assist service users on a day to day basis to eventually achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their lives by providing information and support.

• You must be able to deal with stressful, emotional, demanding and challenging situations, have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships with young people.

Previous experience and NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People is preferred although not essential as additional training will be provided by Social Work Choices. Applicants will require a CRB check before taking up employment working with children.

The post requires employees to work on a shift basis.
