Bridge House Contact & Assessment Centre Opens In Cannock. A pioneering new service has opened its doors in Cannock. Bridge House, at 254 Walsall Road, is the first supervised contact and assessment centre in the area and is part of the Social Work Choices group.
The work at Bridge House is very much involved in human rights and the welfare of children and is thoroughly embedded in legislation, particularly the Children Act 1989 and the Human Rights Act 1988

We would also like to welcome to the team Linda who is now in charge of our accounts dept. If you have any problems or questions regarding your account with us, please do not hesitate to contact Linda.

2009 News

Well it has certainly been a while since we last updated this page! Let me first introduce and welcome our newest team member Penny.  Penny has been with us since November '09 and is our Director of Social Care Development. Penny has been responsible for the majority of our new and fantastic ideas!

Social Work Task Force

Social Work Choices has sponsored two events which were held by LGC in conjunction with eMap. They were held in November last year and January this year and we attended both conferences. To our happiness both were extremely successful for us. Penny had her own slot to talk to the entire conference and made a huge impression (well done Penny!).  Further information on LGC and eMap is available by following these links; www.lgcplus.com and www.emapeducation.com

Training

Training services throughout 2010 will continue to be offered as it has been throughout 2009. We regularly hold Child Protection, Life Story Work, Challenging Behaviour & Breakaway Techniques and Restraint Training. All our training is free of charge and lunch and refreshments are available on the day.

If you would like more information about our training please contact the office and ask for Sharon on: 01785 248 880.

2010

Social Work Choices will continue to seek to expand and develop our services for all our social workers and clients.
We foresee that our services for people with learning disabilities is set to significantly expand to include the promotion of services, which promote choice, independence and integration.
These services include day services and supported living.
